  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Mix in flour and baking powder until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish and bake for 10 minutes until slightly golden.
  4. Prepare the filling by combining chopped strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice in another bowl.
  5. Spread the strawberry mixture over the baked base.
  6. For the streusel topping, mix brown sugar, oats, and cinnamon in a separate bowl and sprinkle it over the strawberry layer.
  7. Bake again for 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
