Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 medium Granny Smith apples
  • 2 cups light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 wooden sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare your apples by washing them thoroughly and removing stems. Insert wooden sticks into each apple and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to catch drips.
  3. In a large saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup over medium heat, whisking until smooth. Gradually add sweetened condensed milk and cook until it reaches 245°F (about 15-25 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and keep warm.
  5. Dip chilled apples into the warm caramel sauce, allowing excess to drip off. Add toppings immediately if desired.
  6. Place coated apples on the prepared baking sheet and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
