  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
  • Vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.
  2. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper and add to the skillet. Cook for 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Pour in the prepared teriyaki sauce, stirring to coat evenly. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Gradually add this to the skillet while stirring constantly to thicken the sauce for another 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving hot with rice or noodles.
