  • 450g flank or sirloin steak
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • Fresh cilantro, lime wedges, avocado slices
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 cups broth or water

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak dry and rub with olive oil and spices. Sear in a hot skillet for about 4–5 minutes per side; let rest before slicing.
  2. Rinse the rice and toast it in olive oil with garlic powder; add broth or water, cover, and simmer until fluffy.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic. Gradually stir in milk and cheese until smooth.
  4. Serve the rice topped with sliced steak and queso sauce, garnished with cilantro, lime, and avocado.
