  • 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 4 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup grated mozzarella
  • ½ cup ricotta
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned; drain excess grease.
  2. 2. Transfer meat to the slow cooker and add diced onion, minced garlic, broth, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and spices. Mix well.
  3. 3. Cover and cook on Low for 6-8 hours or High for 3-4 hours.
  4. 4. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in broken lasagna noodles and cover until cooked to your liking.
  5. 5. Stir in balsamic vinegar and grated parmesan before serving topped with mozzarella and ricotta cheese.
