  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 100 g semisweet chocolate (melted and cooled)
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Add granulated sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, orange juice, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool before preparing the frosting by whipping together softened butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, melted chocolate, vanilla extract, and orange zest.
