  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar (for cinnamon swirl)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter (for cinnamon swirl)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 Tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture alternately with buttermilk until just combined.
  5. For the filling, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a small bowl.
  6. Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan, dollop with the cinnamon filling and swirl it. Top with remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool slightly before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla.
