Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef belly
  • 1 small onion
  • 4 green onions
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoons Korean red pepper paste (gochujang)
  • 1 tablespoon Korean red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef: Combine ginger, gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and black pepper in a bowl. Add sliced beef belly and coat well. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef belly pieces in a single layer; avoid overcrowding.
  3. Sear beef for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and caramelized. Add sliced onion and green onions during the last few minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and garnish with extra green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
