  • 1 cup water
  • 40 g granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 170 g cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 40 g sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  3. Cook dried figs and water over medium heat until soft, about 10 minutes. Blend until smooth with granulated sugar and lemon juice.
  4. Beat cream cheese until creamy; mix in vanilla, egg, and remaining sugar.
  5. Pour fig filling over the base, then layer with cream cheese mixture. Bake for about 30 minutes or until set.
  6. Allow cooling before cutting into bars.
