  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat lightly in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and mushrooms with Italian seasoning; cook until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Add minced garlic, then pour in white apple vinegar; let bubble for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet; simmer for another 5 minutes until cooked through.
