  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 (14 oz) can full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Chop onion, mince garlic, and grate ginger.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, heat vegetable oil. Brown cubed beef for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add onion, garlic, and ginger; sauté until onions are translucent (3-4 minutes).
  4. Stir in spices (curry powder, cumin, turmeric, cayenne) and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in coconut milk, beef broth, tomato paste; add chickpeas.
  6. Simmer on low heat for 25-30 minutes until beef is tender; season with salt and pepper.
  7. For naan: Mix flour, yogurt, warm water, sugar, baking powder; knead into soft dough. Rest for 20 minutes.
  8. Roll out dough into rounds; bake at 400°F (200°C) until golden brown.
