  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 2 cups marinara sauce, plus extra for serving
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
  3. Spread half of the meat mixture into the baking dish.
  4. Layer with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, chopped spinach, and 1/2 cup of marinara sauce.
  5. Cover with the remaining meat mixture and seal edges well.
  6. Top with more marinara sauce and bake for 45–50 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F).
  7. In the last few minutes of baking, add the remaining mozzarella on top until melted.
  8. Allow resting for about 10 minutes before slicing.
