Instructions

  1. Reduce apple cider by simmering until thickened.
  2. Brown the unsalted butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk eggs, sugars, whole milk, vanilla extract, reduced cider, and browned butter together.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently; do not overmix.
  6. Fill greased donut pan cavities about 3/4 full with batter.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 12 minutes or until springy.
  8. Cool slightly before coating in cinnamon sugar mixture.
