  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 3/4 cups (345 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup (130 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, plus 1 egg yolk, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie dough: Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients, sift into the wet mixture, then fold in chocolate chips.
  3. For the cookie dough: Cream cold butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients separately, then gradually combine with wet mixture and fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Using a cookie scoop, form smaller brownie dough balls and larger cookie dough balls, then press together to form one cohesive ball.
