  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. For the crust: In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  3. For the filling: Whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.
  4. Pour filling over pre-baked crust; spread evenly.
  5. Bake for another 30–35 minutes until set and golden brown on top.
  6. Cool completely before lifting out of the pan using parchment paper; slice into squares.
